WhatsApp provides a blocking feature for its users, where they can block other users’ accounts if they find it annoying or for other reasons. So, how do you find out if your WhatsApp account is blocked by someone else?
In a statement on its website, WhatsApp explained that it did not inform directly that a user was blocked by another user. “We intentionally made this ambiguous to protect your privacy when you block someone. Therefore, we cannot notify you if someone is blocking you,” WhatsApp said.
However, WhatsApp gives some signs as follows:
1. You can no longer see last seen or online contacts in the chat screen. Last seen and online tells you when your contacts last used WhatsApp or if they were online.
There are several reasons why you may not be able to see your contacts’ last seen: they may have set their privacy settings not to show this information.
Then, you may have set your privacy settings not to share last seen information. If you don’t share your last seen, you won’t be able to see another contact’s last seen either. And lastly, you may have been blocked.
2. You can’t see the contact’s profile photo update.
3. Each message sent to a contact who has blocked you will always show one tick (message sent), and will never show a second tick (message delivered).
4. All calls you make will not connect.
If you see all the indicators above for your contacts, it could be that they have blocked your WhatsApp. However, there are also several other possibilities.
